| The Purpose of
Leadership Nebraska City |
 |
 |
 |
Since August 2005, Leadership
Nebraska City has been training emerging and
existing leaders in Nebraska City and the
surrounding area. Established through a unique
collaboration of individuals representing River
Country Economic Development Corporation, Nebraska
City Museum Association, the University of Nebraska
Kimmel Education and Research Center and a community
volunteer, Leadership Nebraska City’s purpose is to
increase the quality and quantity of men and women
capable of accepting leadership roles in varied
community organizations.
The program focuses on developing leadership and
board readiness skills; increasing awareness about
community and area issues and resources; networking;
nurturing and exposing stewardship opportunities;
and capacity building for the future of the
community. Each year, the class participants are
exposed to over 120 representatives from area
businesses, organizations and institutions and to a
variety of social and economic issues facing the
area. This awareness is developing informed,
civic-oriented leaders who are interested in helping
direct the future of the community. |
